May 2020

To our Real Insurance Sydney Harbour 10k & 5k Community,

We trust that you, your family, friends and colleagues have all been keeping yourselves safe & healthy over the past weeks of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result of the pandemic, we have decided to postpone the Real Insurance Sydney Harbour 10k & 5k event which was scheduled to take place in July. We have a backup date in late 2020 but are consulting with the NSW Government and our key stakeholders to ensure we have the best backup date within the revised calendar for our great event. We expect that we’ll be able to announce the new date in the next few weeks.

COVID-19 has certainly challenged society, it has been devastating in many communities around the world but we do take our hat off to our frontline medical workers, first responders and our Government who have achieved extraordinary results.  And as a result of their fantastic work we are hopeful that Australia will recover quickly so we can try and resume a normal life.
We are really pleased to see that so many people have been working on their health and wellbeing with many taking up running. This is fantastic, and a positive health outcome of the isolation strategy. So we are planning to give the community an outlet for all of this great training being done by testing themselves in Sydney’s flattest and most beautiful 10k & 5k events, with stunning harbour views throughout.

We hope that you can continue to support us and the event to ensure that we can deliver it to you as we always do. We are excited and looking forward to seeing you all on the start line later this year and excited about the prospect of being able to interact with you face to face again!
For those who have already registered for the event, a separate communication has been sent to you.
We thank you for your support and patience during this difficult time and look forward to seeing you all again.
